DUSHANBE, November 13, 2008, Asia-Plus — The autumn session of the Local Governance School for Tajik and Kyrgyz students and young specialists will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from November 17-23, according to the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF-Tajikistan).
The event, staged by OSI/AF Local Governance Initiative Program in association with the Center for Public Technologies, is part of the Municipal Surveys and Technologies School Project that was launched last January.
The source at the OSI/AF-Tajikistan said that the main objective of the project is in laying foundation of improvement of quality of technological training of management specialists for institution of local government and specialists in conducting expert and analytical researches.
Students and young specialists from all regions of Tajikistan have been competitively selected to attend the autumn session in Bishkek. They have taken theoretical and practical training on local government and local governance basics that have been conducted by trainers from the Small Towns of Russia Institute (Russia) and the center for Public technologies (Kyrgyzstan), the source said.
The autumn session will give Tajik students and young specialists an opportunity to get acquainted with work of their Kyrgyz colleagues and specialists in local governance issues, new management technologies, as well as take additional theoretical and practical training.
