, January 16, Asia-Plus – The second international meeting on establishment of an International Energy Consortium opened in the new building of Tajik central bank today morning. 

The meeting participants include senior representatives from diplomatic missions, international financial institutions, investment funds and foreign commercial banks.  

Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov inaugurated the meeting.  Addressing the meeting Rahmonov noted, “The conference convened on initiative of the Government of Tajikistan is dedicated to discuss the issues related to the establishment of the International Consortium for the completion of the construction of Roghun and Sangtuda hydropower plants in

and the construction of mains for transmitting electric power generated by them.”    

 Participants at the meeting received copies of draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the main principles of being established International Consortium.  

The conference is ongoing.
