DUSHANBE, February 10, Asia-Plus — The Sughd law enforcement officers have detained Boltukhon Boltayev, resident of Khujand, who is charged with organizing gambling-den in his apartment.  

Sabagul Qurbonova, a spokeswoman for the Prosecutor-General’s office, has told Asia-Plus that Boltayev was arranging dicing and paying cards for successful people of Khujand and neighboring regions of Uzbekistan.    

Many visitors of this gambling-den have even pawned their houses and properties, according to the Asia-Plus interlocutor.  

The Sughd prosecutor’s office has brought charges against this “enterprising” resident of Khujand under Article 240 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code (organization and keeping of gambling-den).
