As in 2005, the UN Appeal for Tajikistan 2006 is a ‘development appeal’, outlining the joint UN strategy to contribute further to sustainable development countrywide. This Appeal and the activities it is representing seek to achieve a positive, long-lasting impact by combining the joint efforts of the UN Country Team and their partners to maximum effect.

This year’s document also contains the information that the UN Appeal for 2005 was of great success and raised about 87% of the total amount of $57 million requested.

The UN Appeal for Tajikistan 2006 requests a total of $51,263,706 million and outlines the joint UN strategy for 2006; it presents 56 projects, including 14 joint projects and 33 new projects in the priority areas of Reversing Declines,
