KHUJAND, March 28, Asia-Plus — Woman from Khujand, the capital of the northern province of Sughd, has tried to sell her newly born daughter for 250 Somonis.

According to information from the Sughd police directorate, Rano Ghafforova bore daughter on March 10 and already on March 23 she sold her the resident from the Bobojonghafurov district for 250 Somonis.  

Officers from the Bobojonghafurov police directorate have collected all necessary materials on this case and criminal proceeding have been instituted against Rano Ghafforova under Article 167, Part 1 (buying and selling of minors) of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code.
