DUSHANBE, April 7, Asia-Plus – The United States has a positive attitude to Islam, Mr. Ahmed Yunes, National Director of the U.S. Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), remarked at a meeting with students from Faculty of Philosophy at Tajik National University in Dushanbe on April 6.  

According to him, at present from 6 million to 8 million Muslims are living in the



United States


and there are some 3,500 mosques.  

“As far as integration of Muslims into the American life is concerned, American Muslims are full citizens of the United States and have equal with other U.S. citizens opportunities to held their customs and ceremonies,” said Mr. Yunes, “For example, I am imam of mosques at the U.S. Congress.”

“I deny clash of civilization in international community and this is confirmed by attitude of the


U.S.


authorities to Muslims living in the country,” the MPAC national director concluded.

on April 5 for a three-day visit.
