so far, Davlatali Saidov, Chairman of the Youth Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, told journalists on April 14.  

The majority of them are working due to grants awarded by international organizations, according to him.  “This year, Tajik Government has awarded five grants 10,000 Somonis each and the Youth Committee has awarded six grants to local youth NGOs,” Davlatali Saidov said, noting that 11 projects have been competitively selected from 72 projects submitted for consideration.  

Qiyomiddin Miraliyev, head of the international ties department of the Youth Committee, speaking to journalists noted that youth did not take part a proper participation in social and political life of the country.  “At present practically there are no initiative groups that would be engaged in purely political activity,” said Miraliyev, “Our youth are more engaged in with resolving socioeconomic problems and they are not in mood for politics.”
