, to 20 years in jail for brutally killing his wife.  

Farhod Munavvarov, an aide to the Qurghon Teppa prosecutor, has told Asia-Plus that Toshtemur Ghafurov killed his wife in late September last year out of jealousy.  “He inflicted 44 stab wounds on her,” Munavvarov said.  

According to information from the Khatlon prosecutor’s office, 12 killings have been registered in the province over the first three months of this year.
