DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus – Telling the international conference on drug trafficking opened in Dushanbe, President Rahmonov has called on international community to help Afghanistan efficiently fight drug trafficking.  

“Measures taken by the neighboring country to fight drug trafficking are not enough, and the drug pressing will increase in future,” Rahmonov said, noting that there ought not to shut eyes to this problem.

’s territory has been provided with electricity,” Said Rahmonov, “It is impossible to develop industrial production without electric power.” 

He noted that the construction of the Dashtijum hydroelectric power stations with capacity of generating 15 billion kWh of electricity a year on the Panj River in Tajikistan would allow providing 1.5 million hectares of lands in Afghanistan with water, creating 3 million jobs and diverting Afghans from drug trafficking.
