-Plus – Issues related to fighting drug trafficking are being discussed at an international conference that opened in


Dushanbe


today morning.     

President Emomali Rahmonov inaugurated the conference, which is aiming to discuss expansion of cooperation both at regional and international, as well as interdepartmental levels to increase the efficiency of the fight against the international evil.  Participants at the meeting are also supposed to consider issues related to strengthening of protection of Tajik-Afghan border.   

According to information from the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan, more than 70 representatives from more than 20 countries are attending this three-day conference.     

The Tajik border service says Tajik border troops have seized 884 kilograms of drugs since the beginning of this year.  The totaled included 426 kilograms of heroin.
