at Tajik Hydromet Agency, said. 

At the same time, she noted that since the beginning of May daily temperature has exceeded the norm for this period by 8 degrees.  “However, the temperature has not exceeded 37?C over the past several days,” Ms. Baidulloyeva said.   

She also noted that within the next few days the temperature was expected to drop by some three degrees.  According to her, the maximal temperature in the republic in the summer will be 46?C-47?C.  

“Such weather in May was reported in Tajikistan in 1936, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1971, 2000 and 2001 temperature,” said Ms. Baidulloyeva, “The hottest weather was reported in Tajikistan in 1944, when the temperature in the southern settlement of Aivaj (Shahritus district of Khatlon) was 47*C.”
