KULOB, May 24, Asia-Plus – A 40-year-old resident of Kulob Safarali Odinayev better known under the nickname “Peshchera” (cave) has been detained on the charge under Article 200, Point 3 of Tajik Criminal Code (storage of drugs in especially large amounts).  

According to information from the Kulob police directorate, 4.205 kilograms of cannabis confiscated from the Kulob resident, Ms. Zuhro Kucharova, on May 22 belong to Safarali Odinayev.  

Safarali Odinayev had previously been detained by Tajik law enforcement agencies but since they had failed to produce proofs to support his guilty Odinayev had been released.  

According to the source, 622.486 kilograms of drugs, including 293.629 kilograms of heroin and 108.132 kilograms of raw opium, have been seized in the Kulob area of Khatlon over the past four months.
