functioning within the framework of the Economic Development and Business Support Program run by the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF) has supported the project for development of tourism in Baljuvon since 2005.  

According to information from the Tajik Branch of OSI/AF, they in cooperation with Austrian company “Falk” have set up a group for conducting survey in the Baljuvon district.  The results of this survey also will be discussed today.  

The main objective of the project is to study tourism objects in the Baljuvon district, assess their attractiveness and work out proposals on development of tourism in the district and projects for the implementation of them.   .

Representatives from Tajikistan’s president’s office, economy and trade ministry, local authorities of the Baljuvon district, organizations dealing with tourism issues, international organizations, tourism operators, etc.
