meeting of the CIS criminal investigation chiefs was held in the Kazakh capital city of

on June 8.

Anvar Taghoymurodov, chief of the Interior Ministry criminal investigation department, represented


Tajikistan


at this meeting.   

According to information from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the meeting focused on state and prospects of further expansion of interaction between the CIS criminal investigation agencies in fighting transnational criminal groupings dealing with car hijacks and other crimes. 

Participants at the meeting also considered issues related to cooperation in searching criminals, development of modern methods and forms of the fight against crime.  

“Over the past five months, joint efforts by criminal investigation agencies from the CIS states has led to prevention of activities of seven transnational organized criminal groups,” the source said.
