DUSHANBE, June 22, Asia-Plus — A landslide has hit the 57

th

kilometer of the road from Khorog to the Ishkashim district and traffic has still been closed, according to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES). 

The MES source says the landslide occurred in the area near the village of Qozide Tuesday [June 20] morning.  No casualties have been reported, according to the source.  

The landslide also damaged some 70 meters of the power-transmission line, leaving nearby villages without electricity.  

A serious damage also was caused to some farming units.  A special commission is working in the landslide site to assess an actual volume of damage caused by the disaster.
