, July 5, Asia-Plus – Officers form the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) intercepted more than 55 kilograms of heroin in two separate operations in

yesterday.

According to information from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), officers from drug police found more than 39.5 kilograms of heroin, when they were searching “Opel” belonging to a 23-year-old Saidjamol Saiddini, resident of the Afghan


province

of

Kunduz


.  The operation was carried out in the Firdavsi district of Dushanbe.  

On the same day, officers from the police directorate for the Sino district of Dushanbe detained a 24-year-old Afghan citizen Azimullo Azizrahmon.  More than 16 kilograms of heroin wee confiscated from him.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against both drug pushers, and an investigation is under way.
