plans to launch this month a project for drawing population of the Sughd province into social life and assisting in increasing incomes of the local population, Ms. Zulfiya Davlatbekova, a project manager at the European Commission’s Regional Delegation, said.  

According to her, this project is continuation of the poverty reduction project funded by TACIS.  This TACIS-funded project has been implemented in the Sughd province since March 2005.    

“The project’s objectives will be reached through implementation of the following components: integration of vulnerable groups into activities on increase in incomes of the population; enhancement of productivity of agriculture and stock-raising, as well as directing earnings of labor migrants to local economic development projects,” Ms. Davlatbekova noted.  

The project designed for 18 months will be implemented in jamoats of Isfara and Bobojonghafurov districts in Sughd.
