DUSAHNBE, July 13, Asia-Plus – Turkish companies intend to build a residential complex in
Dushanbe
at prices more moderate than Russian companies propose.
According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Trade (MET), this was remarked yesterday at a meeting of senior representatives from MET with visiting Turkish co-chairman of Tajik-Turkish Business Council, Mr. Vedat Oflaz (phonetically spelled).
The MET source says Turkish entrepreneurs are offering more moderate prices – US$1,000 per one square meter. “It is still unknown when and in what area of
Dushanbe
the residential complex will be built,” said the source, “It depends on further negotiations of Turkish entrepreneurs with Tajik ministries and organizations.”
Turkish side has also shown interest in investment in development of Tajik mining industry, according to the source. Turkish is also ready to invest in the construction of hypermarket in the Tajik capital. Turkish entrepreneurs intend to negotiate this issue with
Tajikistan
’s Committee for Construction and Architecture.
Besides, Tajik side has submitted for consideration to Turkish entrepreneurs investment projects aimed at development of textiles sector in the republic and the construction of small hydropower plants on the
Zarafshon
River
, the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
According to the source, Turkish side intends to consider the projects until the end of this year by holding of an enlarged meeting of the Tajik-Turkish Business Forum.
Yesterday, Mr. Vedat Oflaz also met with
Tajikistan
’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) head Sharif Saidov, who is co-chairman of the Tajik-Turkish Business Forum on behalf of
Tajikistan
. During the meeting it was noted that contacts between Tajik and Turkish entrepreneurs were expanding and Turkish companies were actively investing in various sectors of
Tajikistan
’s economy.
During its stay in Tajikistan the Turkish delegation also will meet with Matlubkhon Davlatov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Economic Matters, as well as hold talks with senior representatives from the Ministries of Transport and Industry as well as the State Committee for Management of State-owned Property.
