DUSHANBE, August 23, Asia-Plus — For the purpose of preventing traffic accidents involving schoolchildren and children of the preschool age Tajik traffic police launches an operation dubbed “Children”.  The “Children” Operation will be carried out from August 25 to September 10.  

According to information from Tajik traffic police, they have prepared 22,000 agitation posters on the theme of “Children’s Traumatism in Traffic Accidents”, which have been distributed to schools across the republic.   

Under this operation traffic police will study roads new schools and preschool institutions and a lesson on traffic regulations will be held on the first school day, the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.   

All in all, 889 traffic accidents have been registered in Tajikistan since the beginning of the year.  267 people, including 62 children, have been killed and another 1,064 people, including 192 children, have been injured in those accidents.
