DUSHANBE, August 23, Asia-Plus — Young scientists from Tajikistan are taking part at the First International Summer School of the CIS Young Historians that opened in Moscow on August 21.  

Viktor Dubovitsky, Deputy Director of the Institute of History at the Tajik Academy of Sciences, has told Asia-Plus three young researchers – Alouddin Nazarov, specialist in Islamic studies, Farhod Razzoqov, junior researcher at the National Museum of Antiquities, and Sharofat Arabova, graduate from Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) – are representing Tajikistan in this event.  

The theme of this summer school is “Power and Society in History.”  The summer school will last till September 1.

31 representatives from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan have met to discuss different aspects of formation of independent statehood of the former Soviet republics, the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, totalitarian system and tragedy of peoples, role of power, society and special services in modern and contemporary history of the world, experience of reforms and revolutions, etc.  

 The event ends with a final roundtable meeting formally titled “Single Historical Space: Common Destiny or Field of Conflicts.  Our Common Future in Global System.”
