DUSHANBE, August 30, Asia-Plus — A 32-year-old woman that has been attacked in St. Petersburg provide to be ethnic Tajik from Uzbekistan.  

Muhammad Egamzod, press secretary of the Tajik Embassy in Dushanbe, has told Asia-Plus that the attacked woman was identified as resident of the city of Samarqand Nasiba Haidarova. 

Ms. Haidarova is currently in hospital and she was diagnosed with open brain injury, and fractures to the nose and skull base.  She has already undergone surgery and is currently in intensive care.  “She is still in a serious condition,” Mr. Egamzod said.  

As it had been reported earlier, a woman was found unconscious with brain damage in Udelny Park in St. Petersburg Russia”s second largest city of St. Petersburg following a violent attack late Monday.  

An inquiry has been opened into the incident in western St. Petersburg, the latest of a series of attacks on ethnic minorities in the city in recent years.
