DUSHANBE, September 28, Asia-Plus – AgroInvestBonk hosts a three-day conference formally titled “Legal and Economic Aspects of Labor Migration from Tajikistan: Ways of Legalization” that opens today.

According to the bank headquarters, the conference participants include representatives from AgroInvestBonk and a delegation of Russia’s RusslavBank led by its vice-president Pavel Tinyayev.  Representatives from international organizations dealing with labor migration issues active in Tajikistan are also expected to participate in the conference’s work.

The source said the conference is considering issues related to safe and reliable remittance of funds earned by Tajik labor migrants in the Russian Federation and the possibility of getting loans for traveling outside Tajikistan in search of search of seasonal work.

“Today, the conference is being held in Dushanbe and the next two days it will continue its work in the cities of Qurghon Teppa and Kulob,” the AgroInvestBonk source said.

The source added that the main objective of the conference is to cover legal and economic aspects of labor migration.  Participants at the conference will discuss Tajikistan’s migration legislation and ways of legalization of labor migrants from Tajikistan in the CIS and other countries.

The conference is staged by AgroInvestBonk, RusslavBank and Tajikistan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

The Labor Ministry’s migration service says a number of Tajik labor migrants working in the CIS states has reached 337,000 people as of September 15 this year.  Last year, 412,000 Tajik citizens left the country seeking better employment opportunities.  The source explains decrease in number of Tajik labor migrants by the fact that new jobs have been created inside the country.
