DUSHANBE, September 29, Asia-Plus – Draft concept of international activity of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) and draft agenda of the next session of the EAEC Interstate Council were the major topics of the 30

th

session of the EAEC Integration Committee that was held in Moscow on September 25, according to presidential press service.

Deputy Prime Minister, Asadullo Ghulomov, represented Tajikistan at this meeting.  The EAEC Integration Committee’s meeting also considered a progress of the implementation of a concept of the establishment of the single energy space and the Customs Union.

During his stay in Moscow Ghulomov also held a meeting with Anatoly Chubais, the head of Russia’s Unified Energy Systems (YeES).  Their talks focused on the construction of Sangtuda-1 power plant in Tajikistan.  The two pointed to the necessity of completing the work on damming the Vakhsh River in November this year and setting up a working group for operation of the plant after completion of the construction.  During the meeting it was noted that electric power that will be generated by this plant should be used, first of all, on the domestic market, according to the source.

Russia is being constructed Sangtuda-1 power plant, which is scheduled to be finished in 2009.
