DUSHANBE, October 17, Asia-Plus – Since the beginning of the year, a net profit of the open joint-stock company (OJSC) OryonBonk has increased by 2,606,494 somonis and amounted to some 8 million somonis (more than US$2.35 million) as of October 1, which is 2.15 times more compared to the same period of last year.  

A source at OryonBonk said that a total capital of the bank has increased by 5,380,330 somonis over the same nine-month period and amounted to 56,282,604 somonis, which is 14.7 million somonis more than in January-September 2005.   

Over the past nine months, the bank’s authorized capital has increased from 34,268,150 somonis to 40,726,090.  

Deposits in OryonBonk have exceeded 337.2 million somonis in January-September 2006, which is 189 million somonis more compared to the same period of last year.   

From January to September of 2006, an amount of money remitted to OryonBonk in USD was more than US$114 million, which is US$53.2 million more than in January-September 2005, and an amount of money remitted to the bank in Russian rubles was some 693 million Russian rubles, which is 325.4 million Russian rubles more compared to the same period of last year.  An amount of money remitted to the bank in euros over the same nine-month period has amounted to Euro 10,200, which is Euro 3,600 fewer than in January-September 2005.  

According to the source, remittances transferred from Tajikistan to other countries via OryonBonk over past nine months have also increased: USD remittances have increased 2.2 times and amounted to some US$132.4 million; RR remittances have increased by 74.3 million Russian rubles and amounted to more than 199.5 Russian rubles and Euro remittances have increased 22.9 times and amounted to 800,401 euros.
