KULOB, October 17, Asia-Plus – Over the past nine months, tax debts of Kulob enterprises and organizations have increased by 349,900 somonis and amounted to 2,627,400 somonis as of October 1, according to the Kulob mayor’s office.

Deputy Kulob Mayor, Safarali Rajabov, reporting on Kulob’s economic results in January-September 2006 noted that the main problem is arrears of tax collections for the previous years.  “The target on the current collection taxes has been over-fulfilled by 63,200 somonis,” said Rajabov, “Though tax police have managed to collect 525,900 somonis from the most incorrigible nonpayers the result remains unsatisfactory.”
