DUSHANBE, October 19, Asia-Plus – Over the past nine months, Tajikistan’s fuel-energy complex produced output worth 220.9 million somonis (equivalent to some US $65.2 million), which is 1.3 percent less than in same period of last year, according to the State Committee for Statistics. 

The committee said that since the beginning of the year, Tajikistan has generated 13.069 billion kWh of electricity, which is 2.5 percent less than in January-September 2005. The volume of heat energy generated over the same nine-month period has been 201,000 gigacalories, which 18 percent less compared to the same period of 2005. 

In January-September 2006, Tajikistan extracted 44,700 tons of coal (116.1 percent of

January-September 2005), and 17,500 tons of oil (110.1 percent of January-September 2005). 

In the first three quarters of this year, Tajikistan has produced 17.8 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is 37.6 percent less than the same period last year.
