DUSHANBE, October 20, Asia-Plus – Officers from Uzbekistan’s National Security Service (SNB) Thursday, October 19, intercepted more than 57 kilograms of drugs that were smuggled into the south of the country from Tajikistan, the SNB press service reported on Friday, according to the Uzbek news agency Press-uz.info.

The news agency quoted the SNB press service as saying that drug traffickers tried to smuggle more than fifty kilograms of heroin in to the Uzbek region of Sarosiyo.  The drug smugglers proved to be local resident Nematullo Jumayev and Tajik national Sharofiddin Ortiqov, resident of the Tursunzoda district.  

In the meantime, Tajik power-wielding agencies says that they do not have such an information.
