DUSHANBE, October 31, Asia-Plus – Non-government organization Restorers Without Borders – Republic of Tajikistan and Tajikistan’s National Kamoliddin Behzod Museum have announced the launch of an active part of the Emergency Care Project for Art Collections of Central Asia.
A source at the NGO told Asia-Plus that the project is aimed at creating and developing restoration school in Tajikistan.
During the first phase of the project, restorer from the Tajik National Museum and two students from Tajikistan’s College of Arts took a special training on basics of restoration in Uzbekistan, according to the source. They studied modern technical methods of restoring fine artwork
During the active phase of the project a restoration training was launched in Dushanbe on October 23. Restoration expert from Tashkent Academy of Arts Stanislav Hoshimov has been invited to conduct this training, which runs through November 10. This part of the project also includes restoration of work of a number of Tajik painters as well as the work by famous Russian painter Ivan Aivazovski (1817-100), “In the Sea” painted in 1899.
The project also includes the holding of an exhibition-conference, during which its participants will see the results of the work done and enjoy the masterpieces of Tajik social realism and an amazing work of Aivazovski.
