DUSHANBE, November 10, Asia-Plus — Experts expect serious government shake-up and reform to approach in Tajikistan in the near future.
Under Article 74 of Tajikistan’s Constitution the Prime Minister and other members of the Government resign as a newly elected president takes up office swear and oath.
Zafar Saidov, director general of the state-run news agency Khovar, considers that serious government shake-up is inevitable. “Besides, structural changes of the government may also take place because a process of improvement of the country’s public management system carried out under support of the World Bank has not yet been completed,” Saidov said, stressing that government reshuffle will follow the structural changes. The Khovar head does not rule out that the president may possibly shuffle from 50% to 80% of the Cabinet officials.
He noted that the changes should eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy ad bring younger people into the government.
