DUSHANBE, November 16, Asia-Plus — Eskhata Bank has announced a tender for modernization of its banking system  

A source at the Eskhata Bank said that automatic system that was introduced several years ago does not meet requirements of a strategic plan for development of the bank.  “Therefore our bank plans to acquire a new profitable online banking system meeting the present and future requirements of the organization,” the source said. 

In the meantime, according the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), some banks in Tajikistan have introduced new banking systems, converting to RS-Bank.  A source at the Tajik central bank said that at present five Tajik banks are clients of R-Style Soft Lab: AgroInvestBonk; OryonBonk; TajPromBank; AmonatBonk (Tajik savings bank) and the NBT.  “Since these banks daily serve a large number of clients they use R-Style Soft Lab products to ensure the automation of bank workflow,” the source said.

Established in November 1993, a privately owned Eskhata Bank, with headquarters in Khujand, has eight branches in various regions of the country.  The bank got operating license in 1994.  In December 2005, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) took equity in Eskhata Bank that allowed Eskhata to continue to comply with the National Bank of Tajikistan’s minimum capital requirements, which have been revised upwards to $5 million.

 

As of October 1 2006, a regulative capital of Eskhata Bank has amounted to 19.7 million somonis (equivalent to more than US$5 million).
