QURGHON TEPPA, November 22, Asia-Plus — Over the past ten months, the tax debt of Khatlon enterprises and organizations has increased by 10.9 million and amounted, as of November 1, to 60 million somonis, Khatlon governor Amirsho Miraliyev remarked at a hook-up conference on November 21.

The governor noted that a main problem in the economy has been arrears in tax collections for previous years.  Inspections by tax authorities of enterprises and organizations in the region revealed shortcomings in tax payments and their documentation.

According to the governor, the most incorrigible tax delinquents are in Vakhsh (5.3 million somonis), Kolkhozobod (4.1 million somonis), Jilikul (3.9 million somonis) and Sarband (3.1 million somonis).  “Because of non-fulfillment of targets on two types of taxes the regional budget has received 6.1 million somonis less than its due,” Miraliyev said.

The governor noted, “Though the province has over-fulfilled its target on transferring funds to the pension fund by 2 percent, the result remain unsatisfactory because debts of enterprises and organizations to the pension fund have amounted, as of November 1, to 30 million somonis.”  According to him, the most incorrigible nonpayers are farming units.  “Thus, debts of Hamadoni, Farkhor, Vose, Kolkhozobod, Bokhtar, Yovon and Vakhsh to the pension fund range from 1.6 million to 3.2 million somonis,” Miraliyev said.
