DUSHANBE, November 23, Asia-Plus – Babilon-M is the first among Tajik cellular operator to expand the 3G (3

Generation) network service to the provinces, according to the Communications Regulatory Agency (CRA) at the Ministry of Communications.  

A source at a CRA said that Babilon-M is the only cellular operator in Tajikistan that provides cellular communication services in the 3G standard outside Dushanbe.   “Other companies providing cellular communication services also plan to have expanded their 3G standard coverage maps by the end of the year,” the source said.  

According to Babilon-M headquarters in Dushanbe, the company now provides services in the 3G standard in Dushanbe, Qurghon Teppa, Kulob, Khujand and Isfara.  The 3G standard services have been available since early November this year, the source said.   

According to the Ministry of Communications According to the Ministry of Communications, nine cellular operators now provide services in different standards function in Tajikistan: MLT/TT Mobile; Babilon-M, Indigo-Tajikistan; Indigo-Somoncom; Beeline; Tacom; M Teco; Telecom Inc (Skytel) and TK Mobile.  Of them, five companies – MLT/TT Mobile, Babilon-M, Indigo-Tajikistan, Indigo-Somoncom, and Beeline – provide services in the 3G standard.  Last year. MLT/TT Mobile was the first cellular operator in Tajikistan to offer its clients the 3G standard.
