DUSHANBE, January 19, Asia-Plus – Tajik Journalists’ Union has announced a competition for the Abulqosim Lohuti Wards 2007.  

Pulod Noorov, executive secretary of Tajik Journalists’ Union, said that only members of the Union have the right to participate in the competition.  Participants of the contest should submit their materials published in print media and broadcast on TV and radio in 2006.  The executive secretary noted that the Lohuti Award is given only once and therefore the Award holders do not have the right to submit their materials.  

The expert commission numbering seven people and led by Umar Sherkhonov, deputy head of the state printing-house Sharqi Ozod, selects the winners, according to Noorov. 

 Recipients for the Lohuti Award are selected as prize winners for their significant contribution in the area of print and electronic media in Tajikistan.
