DUSHANBE, January 26, Asia-Plus — The government is currently considering a bill on mortgage crediting and in the near future it will be submitted to the parliament, Tajik central bank head Murodali Alimardonov told journalists yesterday.

According to him, the bill determines the terms of getting the mortgage credit. “Our banks are not yet ready to provide long-term loans that carry a 10-year term,” Alimardonov said, adding that at present some commercial banks provide mortgage credits.

Very few people in Tajikistan willing to buy realty or to upgrade existing living conditions possess the required sum at once.  Mortgage crediting – a credit on the security of purchased housing – is a possibility to live in your own flat today having paid only part of its cost and paying the rest of the sum during a definite period of time.
