Russia’s Russkiye Oteli revises five-star hotel construction plan

DUSAHNBE, February 1, Asia-Plus – A plan of the construction of a five-star hotel for (Hyatt Hotel) has been revised, Aleksndr Semchenko, director general of Russia’s limited liability company Sozidaniye, an affiliate of Russkiye Oteli (Russian Hotels), announced at meeting of the Business Council coordinating work of Russian companies operating in Tajikistan, today. Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ramazan Abdulatipov heads this council.  

According to Semchenko, under the revised plant, an overall space of the hotel will be increased from 25,000 square meters to more than 38,000 square meters.  “Increase in the overall space of the hotel will allow to increase spaces of rooms and house a business center,” Semchenko said, adding that specialists from Turkey’s ENKA that is carrying out the construction work noted that they will deal with an additional volume of work.  

“Despite changes made to the plan, we hope to finish the hotel by the date fixed,” Semchenko said.  According to him, they have to date spent $20 million for the construction of a 12-story hotel the hotel.  The budget for the construction of the hotel is $100 million.  

Ambassador Abdulatipov telling the meeting hailed a good progress of the construction work and noted that the construction is a good example of cooperation between Russian, Tajik and Turkish specialists.    

Russian Hotels has invested into construction of a five-star hotel for the international operator Hyatt in Dushanbe, which is being constructed by Turkey’s ENKA.  The construction of the hotel officially commenced on March 1, 2006.    

Russian Hotels company was established in September 2004 for the purpose of carrying  out management of investment projects on the commercial real estate market.  The company is an affiliate of Russia’s Bazovy Element. 

Main directions of Russian Hotels’ activities are – creation of new objects of commercial real estate (hotels, business centers) in Russian regions and CIS countries (from real estate development to transfer of a ready object for administration by specialized companies); attraction of capital for implementation of investment into the commercial real estate; hotel business; trust management of the attracted capital; ensuring effective asset management; and receiving of the maximum return on investment.  Company’s business goal: creation of a chain of 20-30 real estate objects, which would be placed in large regional centers of Russia and CIS countries.  The priority area for Russian Hotels development is construction of VIP-class hotels.
