KULOB, February 19, Asia-Plus – Officers from the Farkhor police directorate have detained resident of the village of Ittifoq Umedjon Abdulloyev for drug pushing. 

According to the Kulob police directorate, five grams of heroin have been confiscated from Abdulloyev.  A source at the Kulob police directorate said that the preliminary investigation had established that Umedjon Abdulloyev had dealt with drug pushing in Ittifoq and nearby villages over the last seven years.  

Abdulloyev faces prison sentence from eight to ten years if convicted.  

“Police found the trace of Abdulloyev after recent detention of Afghan drug trafficker with 32 kilograms of drugs (3 kilograms of heroin and 29 kilograms of raw opium) in Farkhor,” the source said.

 In 2006, Farkhor police intercepted 76 kilograms of drugs, including 28 kilograms of heroin.
