KULOB, February 19, Asia-Plus – The Kulob regional prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings against a 60-year-old resident of the village of Davlatobod in the Hamadoni district of Khatlon Murod Doniyev.

Rahmonali Azimov, an official with the Kulob prosecutor’s office, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that Doniyev faces charges under Article 135, Part 3 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code – libel.

“Over the past ten years, Doniyev has sent to various instances letters claiming that former judge of the Farkhor district Abdurahim Asrorov and judge with Hamadoni court Jabbor Khalilov have repeatedly made attempts upon his life,” Azimov said.

According to the prosecutor, all applications have been thoroughly investigated by appropriate commissions and no of them has proved to be true.
