KULOB, February 26, Asia-Plus – A February 24 conference of ruling People’s Democratic Party’s (PDPT) organization for Hamadoni district named Safarali Gulov, chairman of the Hamadoni district, as its candidate for an April 1 by-election in Hamadoni constituency # 35 to fill a vacant seat in the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).   

Gulov will compete for the seat with Abdulqodir Hasanpour, who has been nominated by the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT).

Hasanpour is the head of the IRPT organization for the Hamadoni district.
