DUSHANBE, April 18, Asia-Plus – Russia has been and remains strategic partner of Tajikistan, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zaripov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 18.

Asked about the possibility of changing of priorities and main directions of Tajikistan’s foreign policy, Zaripov said that such allegations have probably been connected with the fact that he had worked for 10 years in the West.

“Tajikistan conducts an open policy and I carry out instructions of the president,” the minister said, adding that there are no any changes in the country’s foreign policy.  “Russia has been and remains the main strategic partner of Tajikistan.”

“We realize our obligations to Russia and the Russian Federation realizes its obligations to Tajikistan, and therefore, we will adhere to all agreements we have,” the minister stressed.

“We are pragmatics and want all countries to have equal access to Tajikistan’s economy and invest in it on an equal footing with each other,” said Zaripov, “We need investments and we will strive for obtaining them throughout the world without any political causes.”
