DUSHANBE, May 24, Asia-Plus – The number of the dead as a result of the methane blast at the Yubileinaya mine in the Kuznetsk Coal Basin (Kuzbass) reached 35. The bodies of another four miners were found underground, Itar-Tass learnt from a ranking officer of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies Natalya Lukash.

Besides, a live miner was found at the long face. He was already lifted to the surface. Thus, the number of rescued miners reached 179. Seven of them were injured. The state of a miner who was recently evacuated, is assessed as serious.

The fate of six miners remains unknown up to this time.
