Capital mayor announces 120-day preparations for autumn-winter season

DUSHANBE, June 12, Asia-Plus – Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev on June 11 passed a resolution announcing 120-day preparations for autumn-winter 2007-2008 that begin on June 12 and run through October 10.  

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the capital mayor, said that a special commission headed by the first deputy capital mayor, Abdusattor Sulaymonov, had been set up for monitoring a progress of preparations.  The similar commissions have been set up in all Dushanbe’s districts as well, according to the spokesman.  

The commissions will meet once a month to consider a progress of preparations for the autumn-winter season.  “The final results on the Shohmansour district will be discussed on October 11, the Ismoili Somoni district – October 12, the Sino district – October 13 and the Firdavsi district – October 14,” Saidov said.  

On June 11, a control meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office was held to discuss measures taken by the municipal services to provide the population with safe drinking water, repair streets and provide the population with passenger transport services, the spokesman said.
