DUSHANBE, June 14, Asia-Plus – In the FIFA/Coca Cola World Ranking, Tajikistan’s national team has been ranked 147th with 121 points.
According to the Football Federation of Tajikistan (FFT), over the past several months, Tajik national team has not had an opportunity to participate in friendly matches that could allow it rising in ranking table.
According to the FIFA/Coca Cola World Ranking, Italy tops the ranking table with 1,653 points. France is ranked second (1,585) and Brazil is ranked third (1,484).
Since its introduction in August 1993, the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking has become a regular part of international sports reports and an important indicator for FIFA”s member associations to find out where their respective teams stand in world football”s pecking order and how they are progressing.
In the meantime, Shavkat Ahmadov, an official with FFT, said that they focus mainly on the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup that will be held in South Korea from August 18 to September 9.
Tajikistan U-17 team have sealed berth in a final part of FIFA U-17 World Cup. 24 teams will contest the Cup. In its Group, Tajik U-17 soccer players will compete with teams of the United States, Belgium and Tunis.
