DUSHANBE, July 9, Asia-Plus – the work on completing the construction of the Roghun power plant on the Vakhsh River should start in September, according to presidential press service.

Presidential press service said that $1 million will be provided from the country’s budget for initial work.    

We will recall that Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov last week visit the site of the Roghun power plant to familiarize himself with state of the facility and determine immediate tasks on completing the construction of the Roghun dam.

These tasks include preparation of the construction areas, arrangement the electricity supply, introduction of cooperative enterprises for production of concrete and crushed stone into operation, as well as creation of proper living conditions for builders and selection of skilled and experienced specialists. 

The 3,600 MW Roghun hydroelectric plant is to generate 13 billion kW/h of electricity per year.
