DUSHANBE, July 19, Asia-Plus — Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad-Mehdi Zahedi arrived in Tajikistan today morning for a three-day working visit.  

According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), during his stay in Tajikistan,  Iranian minister is scheduled to hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon, Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov and Culture Minister Mirzoshorukh Asrorov. 

The source at a MoE noted that Dr. Zahedi is also expected to meet with Health Minister Rano Abdurahmonova.  

The main purpose of the visit is for Iranian minister to discuss with Tajik officials issues related to expansion of bilateral scientific and technical cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan.  

Dr. Zahedi is also supposed to visit a number of scientific and cultural facilities in the Tajik capital. 

Tomorrow, Iranian science minister will give a news conference in Dushanbe.
