DUSHANBE, August 7, Asia-Plus — The United Kingdom has made changes to visa application process for citizens of Tajikistan.

Applications for visas from nationals of Tajikistan should be made in Moscow or Almaty with immediate effect.

According to the UK Embassy in Dushanbe, the UK visa application process in the UK Consulate in Almaty, Kazakhstan, changed with effect from August 2 and in the UK Embassy in Moscow it changes with effect from August 18.  Applicants living in Tajikistan should provide their biometrics (biometric fingerscans and digital photographs).   

The UK Government introduces collection of biometric data from all visa applicants, irrespective of nationality, according to the source.   

Visa applicants, excepting officials of ministerial level making an official visit to the Great Britain, diplomats and high-ranking officers of the United States making an official visit to the Great Britain, as well as children under five, will have to apply in person to visa application centers in Almaty or Moscow and have their fingerscans and digital photograph taken.
