DUSHANBE, August 23, Asia-Plus — Qatar Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani intends to pay a three-day visit to Tajikistan, according to the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The source at a MFA  said that Sheikh Hamad bin al-Thani is expected to arrive in Tajikistan on August 27.

We will recall that during his visit to Qatar on May 6-7, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and a number of high-ranking Qatari state officials to discuss cooperation issues.  The two leaders’ talks focused on attracting Qatar and Arab investments in Tajikistan, in particular in Tajikistan’s hydropower sector.  During the visit, the sides signed two government-to-government agreements on economic, trade and technical cooperation, as well as mutual protection of investments, and two memoranda of cooperation between the countries’ foreign ministries and chambers of chambers of commerce and industry.
