“This partnership is profitable for Tajikistan,” said Rahnamo, “Thus Tajikistan has problems with Uzbekistan on transit transportation, and these problems could be tackled by themselves because Uzbekistan depends on Kazakhstan in terms of transit transportation.”

The political scientist stressed that Kazakhstan is the only country in the region that is able to have many-sided foreign policy.   “Besides, like our traditional partners, Kazakhstan could also invest considerable funds in development our economy, but it could not impose military-political partnership.”

Rahnamo is also optimistic of bilateral documents that were signed in Dushanbe yesterday and believes they will be successfully implemented, “because Kazakhstan needs this for strengthening its positions in the region.”  “Moreover, they are profitable for Kazakhstan itself.”

He also considers that Kazakhstan could also be suitable and “neutral” investor the Roghun hydroelectricity project.
