DUSHANBE, December 19, Asia-Plus  — New UN Resident Coordinator Michael Patrick John yesterday presented copy of credentials to Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, Tajik MFA said.  

Davlat Nazri, the head of the MFA information department, told Asia-Plus that in the course of the talks the two had discussed prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations. 

During the meeting it was noted that Tajikistan should develop sector which would pave the way for development of the country’s economy.  

Tajik minister informed the new UN resident coordinator about the present situation around the management of water resources and enhancement of irrigation system in the Central Asian region.
