DUSHANBE, December 19, Asia-Plus  — A ceremony of opening of a new school was held in Khatlon’s Qumsangir district on the eve of the Idi Qurbon holiday, according to the Ministry of Education (MoE).

Deputy Education Minister, Farhod Rahimov and Qumsangir Chairman, Rahmatullo Safarov, inaugurated the school.  The school was built in the place of school #31 that was destroyed by last year’s devastating earthquake.

The new school to accommodate 725 pupils has been built at the expense of the Catalytic Fund Grant.  Joint-stock company Abdullo Barot constructed the school and a total project cost was 422,571 somonis.

45 educational facilities with more than 25,000 students now function in Qumsangir.
