DUSHANBE, January 2, Asia-Plus  — Three persons were killed and at least four others were injured Tuesday as two cars collided in Khatlon’s Danghara district, Asia-Plus has learned at the Tajik traffic police directorate.  The cause of accident is under investigation.  

Another traffic accident was registered on Tuesday in Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province.  

In all, seven traffic accidents were reported in the country from December 30, 2007 to January 1, 2008.  

The source at the traffic police directorate noted that during the New Year’s holiday, all the law enforcement agencies of the country were put on a state of alert.  The state of alert was lifted today morning.
